My Favorite Things 2018

Happy New Year! I know the phrase "Out with the old, in with the new" is a thing right now but I thought I'd take this opportunity to round up my favorite things from 2018. "Things" is a general term because there is no common ground between these items other than that they were some of my favorite purchases from the past year. And so, without further ado, my favorite things of 2018 (in no particular order):

1. Spanx faux leather leggings - Chances are, if you and I have ever had any sort of real-life conversation, I've probably recommended these leggings to you. I am OBSESSED. I bought the original faux leather ones and quickly realized that I needed more than one pair rotating in my closet so I bought a pair of the faux leather moto leggings. The beauty of these is that they can be dressed up or down. Here I am wearing them paired with a sweatshirt and sneakers in the airport and dressed up for a night out with leopard booties and an OTS sweater:

2. Tote Organizer from Amazon - Between commuting back and forth to work and taking the Metro, I'm pretty much constantly carrying a ton of stuff with me. I love tote bags but most of them only have one big pouch and maybe a small pocket. This organizer fits perfectly into my Tory Burch tote (I bought size large) and I've heard that it's also the perfect size for a Neverfull MM. Now, instead of rummaging through my whole bag, I can find my keys or lip balm exactly where they belong!

3. Gucci belt dupe - I'm not even going to pretend to take credit for this one. Brittany Fullwood (@brittfullwood on IG) shares the BEST dupes and when I saw this Gucci belt on her stories, I had to have it. The actual belt goes for almost $500 but this one is under $20 and comes with free shipping. Full disclosure, though: it did take about a month to ship but it was totally worth it in my opinion. It adds an extra element to pretty much any outfit.

4. Faux Fur Mules from Target - These were probably my most-worn item from 2018 and the most versatile. If you're like me and practically live in your Ugg slippers, these mules are a must-have for two reasons: 1. They're dressier than slippers so you can wear them to work and 2. No one will have any idea that you're basically wearing loungewear in a professional setting. It's a win-win.

5. Brixton Wool Fedora - Another lazy girl hack. Not only does this wool hat provide the perfect disguise for dirty hair, it actually dresses up pretty much any outfit you pair it with. I can't tell you how many mornings I rolled out of bed and probably should have washed my hair but opted to hit snooze more than a few times. Sometimes, no amount of dry shampoo would do the trick so this hat became the ultimate mask. Not only that, but I actually get a ton of compliments every time I wear it!

Well that about sums it up! I hope you guys have had a wonderful holiday with your family and friends and that 2019 is your best year yet! Thank you so much for reading!

Xo,
Katie
